Disaster Recovery

The term Disaster Recovery, better known by the acronym DR, is an admission of failure. Everything about the concept of DR is wrong.

The phrase Disaster Recovery implies that everything will be fine unless there is a catastrophic occurrence such as a hurricane, earthquake, volcano, or asteroid that eliminates your data center & Oracle database. That idea might make for a good movie but it does not reflect the day-to-day reality we experience.
